Datam Polystar's site goes offline
April 08, 2016, 02:41:56 AM by Link-NM
Even though the company behind Makeruna! Makendou hadn't updated their site in a while, it was still up. That is, until this year, it seems. The website, which used to be accessed through , has now gone offline and the server doesn't seem to respond. This, together with the fact that they hadn't made any update, seems to confirm that the company may have silently gone defunct some years ago, even though sites like Wikipedia say it's still active.

The art and artist have been found! (Site still in hiatus)
April 20, 2015, 02:37:07 AM by Link-NM
The search for the old fan art has succeeded! I'm honestly quite surprised since it was quite a while since I made the last news post here. But look what I received some hours ago:

Yup, that's a tweet from the artist who made that fan art of Makeruna! Makendou.  And here's a link to the full size download of the image. That image together with a few others will be shared in the future in a Fan Art section.

The artist, TheNightStar, also mentioned that he created a cool 8-bit remix of the first stage of Makeruna! Makendou, Cliff Hanger, which you can listen to it here. (If you have trouble hearing it, I'll get it mirrored soon and link to it here too).

Updates returning sometime soon and a search
July 30, 2014, 06:41:38 PM by Link-NM
It's been a long while, I know, but be assured Makendou Central isn't dead.  8) It's just under hiatus atm. :P

But anyway, part of this post is also to talk about a specific piece of fan art we're looking for.

If anyone can help us find the artist who made it or get a full-sized version of it, please leave a comment or contact Link-NM. The only info we have is the nickname of the artist who made it was TheNewX and he had a DeviantArt account which is now closed.

Site updated! 3 more sections now open!
January 17, 2013, 12:07:02 AM by Link-NM
Hooray for updates! :D

You can now access three more sections of the site. The first and most simple one, you can now see about the current staff of the site. Who does what things, and links to their profiles.

Next, the music section is now open and with the soundtrack from the first two games available for download.

And last but not least at all, the section for Makenro Challenge is now open with details about the Makeruna! Makendou fangame that is being developed at the moment and which I hope can be released soon, possibly around the 20th anniversary of the franchise, which also wanted to mention, is happening the next week. Wanted to point out also that community member, McKnight, is also planning on something for the anniversary, which of course we'll cover here too when that day arrives.

Makeruna! Makendou 2 now available in America!
January 08, 2013, 08:09:58 PM by Link-NM
I know this happened a while ago, but wasnt able to post it before I went on vacations. Anyway, it's incerdible, but true, Makeruna! Makendou 2 is now available as a PSClassic on the PSN Store!

Using "Makendo" instead "Makendou" is understandable from the localization part(that "u" in Japanese is just meant to emphasize the "o" sound) but "Hikaru"? Well.. that's a weird way of saying Hikari, =P . Don't understand why Sony would mistranslate her name like that. Anyway, I've tested it and the game is fully playable on the PS3 and the PSP. Don't have a PSVita to test with, so can't say about that. It probably is playable too, though. Hope someone can confirm that for me just to be sure.

Also, the game includes the full original manual in digital form and on the PSP you can also take screenshots of the game at any point.

As the image states, the game costs $5.99 USD. Afaik, it can only be purchased through the PS3, by some strange reason.

You can buy a PSN card here either for $20 USD or for $50 USD.

Unrelated but also important to say, expect new content to be uploaded soon to the site. Next section up will probably be the Music one, but Ill try getting more content up on all of them soon, including opening up the section of Makenro Challenge with more details about the game.
